Spotify Gift Cards arrive in time for Christmas

1 November 2011 10:32 GMT / By Paul Lamkin

If you needed further proof that Spotify is fast becoming a mainstream brand, not just for tech fans in the know but rather a High Street name, then take note that the music streaming giant has just released its first gift cards into the shops in time for Christmas.

Spotify Gift Cards are available in £10, £30 or £50 denominations and will take their place alongside the usual gift card suspects such as Amazon, iTunes and the like.

The introduction will begin in Morrisons, but the company has plans to expand to "many more retail shops in the near future".

£10 will, of course, be enough for a month's Spotify Premium listening, or enough for around 15 downloaded tracks. Credit can be used for subscriptions, tracks or a mix and match.

Spotify has had a bumper year - not only has it seen a bumper Facebook partnership announced, it has also, finally, had a US launch.
