Nokia has just announced its swanky new Lumia 800 mobile phone, and it's been quick to get the handset packed up and shipped out as the new nokia device is already available to preorder.

The Nokia Lumia 800 will launch in November carrying the Windows Phone 7 OS (7.5 to be exact) and is powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor with 512MB of RAM and it has 16GB of storage (and 25GB of SkyDrive storage).

The 3.7-inch, WVGA 800x480 AMOLED display should make for nice, clear video and images, whilst this is backed up by an 8-megapixel camera boasting Carl Zeiss optics and a n f2.2 aperture lens.

Currently you can pre-order your handset from Vodafone and Phones 4u and Carphone Warehouse - all of them having a variety of introductory offers and tariffs. Before taking the plunge, however, we'd recommend popping in to one of the phone shops and having a play with the device first.

We'll update as and when we see more operators jumping on board.

Update: Three has announced that it will also be stocking the Nokia Lumia 800.

Update 2: It is expected that the handset will be on sale from 16 November.

Update 3: Orange has just made live its pre-order page too. And, according to the site, those willing to upgrade are being offered a "free Xbox 360".

A spokesperson told us, "all will be revealed in due course."

Update 4: T-Mobile has now said that it will be stocking the black Lumia 800 from November too. The Nokia Lumia 800 will be free on T-Mobile to customers who take out a £30 per month on a 24-month price plan. The package includes 600 any network call minutes, 500 texts, as well as a 500MB data allowance and one flexible booster, so users can make the most out of their mobile experience.
