Asus CEO, Jonney Shih, has revealed the new Asus Transformer at the AsiaD conference in Hong Kong on Wednesday, ahead of an official announcement on the 9 November.
The new tablet will be just 8.3-millimetres thick and sport a 10-inch screen and detachable keyboard like the company's original model launched earlier this year.
Following on from the popular Asus Eee Pad Transformer, the new model will come with a keyboard dock and pack Nvidia's Kal-El quad-core SoC quad-core processor - the first of its kind.
The Transformer 2 will have USB, mini-HDMI ports, an SD card reader and a promised battery life of 14.5 hours, Shih told the audience.
It will be officially announced on the 9 November.
The Asus Eee Pad Transformer has been one of the more popular Android tablets available on the market. On Wednesday, Asus exclusively confirmed that Google's new mobile operating system, Ice Cream Sandwich, would be coming to the Transformer and to the new Transformer 2.
Although Asus hasn't given an exact timeframe, Shih has said it will be "soon".
UPDATE: Three further shots have turned up on the internet in a Chinese forum of the new device in the wild.
