Motorola and Best Buy in the US have announced a special edition of the Motorola Xoom designed for families.

The new Android 3.1-powered Motorola Xoom Family Edition comes pre-loaded with almost $40 worth of applications and also features Kid Mode by Zoodles that locks the home button and allows your kids to only access the content you deem acceptable, like educational games and movies.

The 10.1-inch tablet design hasn’t changed however meaning you’ll get the same 5-megapixel camera, same 16GB of storage and same features as the non-family edition.

In attempt to woo you to stumping up your $379 you’ll also get a bundle of non kid-friendly software like MotoPack by Motorola, which makes it simple to find and download apps, Quickoffice Pro HD and games like Asphalt 6 from Gamesloft.

The 10.1-inch Motorola Xoom Family Edition will be available exclusively at all Best Buy stores in the US and cost $379.
