Real Racing 2, the cutting edge iPhone app, is to receive an update for the iPhone 4S and iOS 5. Included in the download will be a slight visual hike, 720p AirPlay support and a new Party Play mode.

Real Racing 2 HD has been streamable to televisions since the iPad 2 launched, but now with Party Play, or multiplayer as we like to call it ... you can play local split screen games between 2 to 4 players.

The iPhone 4S or iPad 2 behave like a sort of host, allowing other less powerful Apple portables to join in games.

Dynamic shadows and specular lighting have now been included in car interiors as well as a big polygon jump on some models. There is also graphical improvements in the track lighting and even an HDR style effect.

Games on iOS are now starting to look seriously good. Still you could just get yourself an OnLive connection and play console quality stuff on your first gen iPad. When it arrives that is.
