Vodafone Data Test Drive lets new customers push data to the limit

Go on, experiment

Vodafone has come up with a new scheme called Data Test Drive, which will allow all new and upgrading customers to use as much data as they like, on whatever they like, for three months. Allowing you to test the network to the limit before confirming the data plan you'd like to stick with for the rest of your contract.

"Vodafone’s ‘Data Test Drive’ is designed to give customers the confidence to experiment with their new phone on the UK’s best network, get to grips with its features and explore all the apps that are available for it", Vodafone told Pocket-lint.

The idea is that at the end of the contract Vodafone will contact you to let you know how much data you've used and what the best plan is for you, before you embark on what, more often than not, is a 24-month contract.

The 3 months Vodafone is giving to "Test Drive" your plan should ensure you don't feel cheated after you sign on the dotted line when it comes to data.

Data Test Drive is available for pay monthly customers who choose any of Vodafone’s current range of more than 20 smartphones.

Vodafone goes on to say that: "At the end of the three month period we’ll let the customer know exactly how much data they’ve used and whether the plan they have chosen suits their needs. If it doesn’t we’ll recommend some extra data and all the customer needs to do is text us back."

Sadly the new offering isn't available for customers already signed up to a Vodafone contract, however with a new iPhone, Android phones, and Nokia Windows Phone on the horizon, it is clear that Vodafone is looking to impress the thousands of new would be smartphone owners about to look for a new deal on their latest phone.
