Get some colour in your life with social discovery

WEBSITE OF THE DAY: ColourDNA

Whoa! I never knew my life was so colourful! At least that’s what they tell me at www.colourdna.com.

This is a new community site, currently in private beta testing, which is all about “social discovery”.

Basically, you tell it what you like and it churns out some more things you might like, but which maybe you hadn’t really thought about looking at. Or something like that. To be honest, it’s all a bit enigmatic, and the FAQs are a bit cryptic too. And that’s why we like it.

The whole colour thing is half explained (but not really) and it stems from the first question you’re asked when you sign up: what’s your favourite colour?

The users already using the site are beavering away turning all sorts of things to different colours, but what “Cheryl Cole has just turned red” actually means is anybody’s guess. Hair colour (again)? A blushing fit? Beauty regime gone horribly wrong?

All very beguiling and we can’t wait to see what happens with this one when it goes mainstream.
