Electronic Arts has begun to shut down its servers for some of its top titles.

One round of shutdowns began on 1 August, and culled titles including Fifa 2005.

1 October will see another round of closures, which will see Madden NFL 2005 shut down.

Thirty-four servers for 14 games are set to be shut down; most of the games affected are sports games, although Need for Speed: Underground 2 is one of the few non-games titles being closed online.

FIFA Soccer, NCAA March Madness 2005, NBA Live and Street, and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 are among those to go.
