Skype has added a welcome addition to its iOS apps - both the iPhone and the iPad version of the Microsoft owned VoIP platform app now support Bluetooth.

This means that you can use Skype when you're in the car (provided that you've got a decent 3G signal mind) or even at your desk with a Bluetooth headset or speaker.

Skype video calls should be less of a nauseating affair from now on as well, as Skype has added a shake reduction feature.

No details on how it works are given, just the message that it "reduces the shakiness of an outgoing Skype video chat when using your rear camera" and "if you're using Skype video to show friends and family what you're up to or where you are, the image they see will be less shaky".

The update also brings a security fix, extra emoticon support and a tweaked user interface. Non Skype premium users and those without Skype credit will also see ads displayed on the app.

The Skype iOS app is free and available now. The latest version is 3.5.84 and the Bluetooth support works with iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4th Generation, iPad and iPad 2.
