Mobile phone market analyst company M:Metric has reported that cameraphone ownership and usage is steadily increasing.

In the US, photo messaging has increased by 32% since February; in France, it’s gone up 20%; and in the UK, 16%.

Fifty per cent of mobile phone users in France, Germany, the UK, and the US now own cameraphones, which is an increase of 22% since February.

The company’s research also shows that users are more likely to sent pictures messages if they have cameraphones with more than 1 megapixels of resolution.

British and American users apparently have similar taste in phones, as the Motorola RAZR is the most popular cameraphone in both the UK and the US; the Germans prefer the Nokia 6230, while the French favour the Sagem my X-5.
