ITV has given mobile network 3 an exclusive deal to stream live TV to mobile handsets.

3’s 3.5 million customers will have access to live TV broadcast on ITV1 and ITV Play on their 3G mobile phones.

It will be the UK’s first live streamed terrestrial mobile channel, and will cover more than 89% of the UK’s population.

The exclusive license for 3 runs for 6 months, and the live streaming will begin this autumn.
