HP launches the h6430, hx4700, rx3715, rz1710 new iPaq models

HP has today announced a new suite of iPaq models and laptops designed to bolster its offering across the entry-level, multimedia and mobile smartphone market.

The most interesting announcement is the launch of the new h6340,a mobile smartphone that offers voice and data with integrated quad-band GSM/GPRS, WLAN and Bluetooth wireless technology.

The iPAQ h6340, which is expected to be available from September, also delivers e-mail and messaging capabilities. Additionally the new unit will automatically select the best network, whether it is Wi-Fi or GPRS, for the job automatically switching between available networks when connections are lost.

HP has also announced the - HP iPAQ hx4700 Pocket PC that offers a four-inch display and the first Pocket PC to have a touch pad with a mouse-like cursor aimed at making navigation simple and convenient.

For the entry-level and multimedia markets and obviously aimed at Palm's Zire 72 and Zire 30 models, are the HP iPAQ rx3715 Mobile Media Companion and the HP iPAQ rz1710 Pocket PC models. The company's first multimedia-focused handheld, the HP iPAQ rx3715 is expected to be available at the end of August and offers consumers the chance to take and share photos or video with the built in camera.

All four units are due across the autumn months in the UK. You can expect to pay £470 for the iPAQ h6340, £500 for the hx4700, £400 for the rx3715 and £200 for the rz1710.

Also launching today from HP are two new laptop models - the HP Compaq nx9020 and nx9030 Business Notebooks. Designed for mobile professionals requiring wireless connectivity and long battery life for greater productivity the two units can be heavily customized with a full range of separately purchased options. Prices start from roughly £600.
