Skype has added Facebook support to its Skype for Mac software, allowing users to chat with their Facebook friends without visiting the Facebook website.
Mac uers keen to get a piece of the same Facebook-action that their PC Skype-using friends have no doubt been raving about for months, can now nip over to the Skype website and download the latest version: Skype for Mac 5.4.
Although still in beta, once done, you’ll be able to see your Facebook Wall, update your status as well as chat with people as if you were on Facebook all from the desktop app.
The software will even let you see when your friends are online in the same way it does with your current Skype contacts.
The free software update is available now.
Sadly, Skype hasn’t used the update to do anything to the much moaned about user interface.
