AOL to offer 5GB free storage to everyone

All web users are eligible for the online backup solution

AOL will offer all web users 5GB of free online storage starting in September.

The free storage offer comes after the announcement that AOL’s email and other services will be free for high-speed internet users, as the company shifts towards ad-funded rather than subscription-funded services.

AOL will be offering the free storage at Xdrive, which was bought by AOL last year.

Users will be able to upload and download their files, which can include photos, music, video, and data, at www.xdrive.com.

The service also offers shared files for online collaboration and scheduled automatic backup.
