A safe online playground for your little darlings

Letting your kids loose on the Internet is a daunting prospect, but it’s unavoidable. My 2-year-old is fascinated by my iPad and treats it like some kind of magical object (to be fair, I’m with her on that - despite everybody here repeatedly explaining how it actually works, I still thinks there be witchcraft…).

But let loose they must be, amidst the stalkers, the perverts, the rogue traders and the scantily clad ladies doing unspeakable things with farm animals.

So it’s good to know that there are a few absolutely safe places where the little people can play without fear of stumbling across anything more offensive than some really bad puns. One such place that’s just had a facelift is www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies. It’s the online companion to every parent’s favourite virtual babysitter, Cbeebies.

The best bits of their shows are here, along with educational games, songs and videos, all geared around learning through fun.

It's pretty much the perfect playground. Only without the graffiti and the overwhelming smell of cat poo.
