It’s that time of day again; time for another Apple rumour ahead of its developers’ conference, the WWDC.

Apple is planning on installing Intel’s latest Core 2 Duo mobile processors, known sometimes by their codename Merom, into its notebooks, says a source to AppleInsider.

According to the source, Apple will receive mass shipments of Merom processor by the first week of September, so that the company will be amongst the first to ship machines with the new chip.

Intel’s new Core 2 Duo chips come in five different clock speeds, with a top speed of 2.33GHz.
