This is one of those sites that starts out intriguing, turns a bit bewildering then just leaves you thinking "what the...?"
As if it wasn't bad enough being woken from your slumber by a loud ringing, or a quacking duck, or a chiming marimba band, or whatever daft ringtone you set on your phone (because nobody actually uses alarm clocks any more, do they?), now you can be woken up by, wait for it, a total stranger! All thanks to www.talkoclock.com.
Now, I am not a morning person, so this was never going to appeal to me, but nobody here can figure out who it is going to appeal to. Waking up with a stranger is rarely fun, but this is just bizarre.
What are people expecting? A thoroughly rousing intellectual debate as they first open their eyes? A chirpy greeting from some far-flung exotic shore? A wholly inappropriate heavy breather? It doesn't really matter what people say when they call, all they're likely to get, from a lot of people we know at least, is an earful of colourful Anglo Saxon suggestions of what they can go and do.
Hey ho, each to their own, as they say. If you do give it a whirl, let us know how you get on, won't you? Just do it after we've all had our morning coffee...
