Belkin ScreenCast AV sends HD content wirelessly to your TV

Cablophobia sufferers and neat freaks are going to like this one. Belkin has released a crafty little box that can send HDMI signals from appropriate devices straight to your TV without wires.

The ScreenCast AV box works by sending information from devices connected to a HDMI transmitter box, to a HDMI receiver plugged into the back of your television.

Hardware, within line of sight up to 30 metres away, can receive full 1080p 3D signals and 5.1 sound via the airwaves. Walls can create a slight problem for the ScreenCast box, but you can still get away with a ten-metre range.

In theory this means you could keep Blu-ray players and consoles in different rooms connected to a secondary display, and then send content from them to your television in the living room.

An included IR sensor helps further improve on the multiroom setup by letting you use remotes from devices in different rooms.

The ScreenCast AV box comes in two different forms, one £229 single port version and another £269 four port setup. Expect an October release.
