While the western world focuses one eye on the alleged misdeeds of their newspaper publishers, their politicians and their police, and the other eye firmly on the state of their collective bank balances, the message that some people in the rest of the world need our help might not be cutting through as easily as it should.

The situation in Somalia has just been officially declared a famine, and do you have any idea how bad things have to be for that to happen?

One of the first organisations who rally support, cross international borders and get aid to where it’s desperately needed, it’s UNICEF.

UNICEF is the registered charity dedicated to the global welfare of children, and right now, they need our help.

Donating through www.unicef.org is easy and you can also find out about their latest relief efforts, not just in Africa, but anywhere that children are suffering
