Turn your Xbox LIVE avatar into Halo Master Chief

18 July 2011 15:31 GMT / By Paul Lamkin

Fancy yourself as a bit of a Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy John-117 in the looks department? Tried your best but failed to get your Xbox LIVE avatar to resemble the Halo hero?

Well, if you pre-order Halo: Combat Evolved before its November release date then you could be in luck as a Master Chief Xbox LIVE avatar, complete with MJOLNIR Powered Assault armour, is one of two bonuses on offer.

The other, the Grunt Funeral Skull, sounds a bit daft. We'll let its makers explain:

"An exclusive, game-modifying skull that changes the rules of the game for an explosively humorous experience, Grunt Funeral sends Halo’s most lowly and lovable enemy out in a blaze of glory. And plasma. And then more glory. Once the skull has been activated, every grunt’s methane tank will explode like a plasma grenade when killed. Watch out for the grunt chain reaction!"

Erm, okay.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is a spectacularly remastered version of the original Halo campaign, created in celebration of the 10th anniversary of one of the most beloved franchises in gaming history.

The 343 Industries and Saber Interactive remake is out on 15 November and will even give Halo fans the chance to do battle with the Covenant with the original graphics. And what's more - there's Kinect gameplay on offer too.
