Acer Aspire 5755 announced for multimedia types

18 July 2011 13:41 GMT / By Paul Lamkin

Acer's last couple of notebook releases have had the business gent in mind, but the latest announcement, the Acer Aspire 5755, is aimed squarely at multimedia fans who like to be entertained by their PCs.

Packing the latest generation Intel Core chips (with the top-level i7-2820QM on offer) working in tandem with Turbo Boost 2.0, the 5755 also packs Nvidia GeForce GT 540M graphics with Nvidia's Optimus technology on board.

There's also up to 8GB of DDR3 and the option of up to 1TB of hard drive storage, so you should have no problems playing back your games and videos on its 15.6-inch, 1366x768, Acer CineCrystal LED-backlit TFT LCD.

For your sound needs there is Dolby Advanced Audio v2 tech on board and you can do away with wires for big screen TV playback thanks to the built-in Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) tech. There's also Acer's own clear.fi connectivity and a HDMI option as well.

Available now in brown, black, red and blue, the Acer Aspire 5755 costs a minimum of £899.
