Leica is famed for its unbeatable image quality and supreme build. The company's cameras offer a unique combination of years of hand made precision, with cutting edge technology.

A Leica lens is very much the same, offering high quality craftsmanship unlike any other piece of technology available. One slight problem however is of course lens cost, with all the man hours needed to create some Leica glass running up a serious labour bill.

Leica are also very secretive about the processes behind its lens manufacture and for good reason, plenty of the competition would like to see what goes on behind factory doors.

This rare video insight into the secret world of Leica gives you a rough idea of just what goes in to turning round one of its lenses. We imagine the 'complete inspection' element is a slight German understatement, in reality testing can go on for anywhere up to 6 months.
