Vinturi wine aerator hits UK shelves

The Vinturi Essential Wine aerator has been blazing a serious trail among US wine buffs who applaud it for its breathing process acceleration. And now it's come to the UK.

What is breathing process acceleration you might ask? Well, wine that has been allowed to breathe usually tastes better, but you have to wait. The Vinturi just speeds things up, reducing wait times from an hour to an instant.

The design uses something called Bernoulli's principle which, quite frankly, has Pocket-lint a bit baffled. In the simplest possible terms, the wine moves quicker through the aerator, lowering pressure and drawing in air. All you need to do is hold it over a glass and pour through.

Expect to pay around £26 for the device, which allegedly brings out the best possible flavour, aroma and finish from wine.

Those who like their food and drink in slightly more take-away orientated form could also consider the eatensil. A useful junk food multi-tool consisting of things like a pizza cutter and chopsticks.
