Spotify is US bound: It's official

US readers, prepare your ears for a treat - Spotify is coming your way.

Official confirmation of what has to be one of the most rumoured online launches of all time come direct from the music streaming giant itself - with an invite request page now open on its website.

"Spotify is coming to the US" reads the page. "The award-winning music service that’s taken Europe by storm will soon be landing on US shores. Millions of tracks ready to play instantly, on your computer and your phone."

Back in June, Pocket-lint reported how a Spotify Stateside launch could be imminent as it seemed to have won its battle with the American music labels.

General manager Jon Forster told an ad conference at the time that license deals were being closed "as I speak".

Seems he spoketh no lie.
