Is a Google Games platform incoming? If a job listing on the search giant's recruitment page is anything to go by then yes, especially as it includes the words "Google'’s gaming platform" - as big a clue as you're likely to get.
Listed under "Product Manager, Games - Mountain View" the job listing describes the "Rare opportunity to grow a brand-new business - Games at Google!".
It says that the Big G is on the hunt for "a strategic, technical and game-loving Product Manager to drive Google's gaming strategy".
The listing goes on to mention "designing a great user experience and building out key partnerships" that will influence "Google's social platform as you work directly with a critical set of early adopters [and] game developers" hinting that we could be seeing a gaming platform tied in with social networking.
So what could it be? An Android based portfolio perhaps (maybe tied in with the Zynga investment from last year)? Or even an online PC gaming portal to take on Microsoft and Valve?
Who knows, but we'll be watching this one with a keen eye...
