Back in August 2010, when Microsoft was gearing up for the launch of Kinect over in Germany at Gamescom, creative director Kudo Tsunoda told Pocket-lint that core games would eventually arrive for the motion sensing system.

Over at E3 this year, Tsunoda's promise seemed to ring true with a number of high profile games announcing Kinect integration including Fable, Forza, Ryse and Minecraft.

And although we were excited to hear all about the 10th anniversary edition of Halo: Combat Evolved (and indeed pleased to get some game-time on it) there was no mention of any Kinect activity for Halo fans.

Until now that is, as Microsoft Game Studios boss Phil Spencer has confirmed in a GameSpot interview that the HD remake would be seeing some Kinect-love.

"As a first-party, we believe Kinect will be important to all genres of games, be it racing games with Forza, combat games like Ryse, even games like Halo Anniversary has Kinect integration," he said.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is a spectacularly remastered version of the original Halo campaign, created in celebration of the 10th anniversary of one of the most beloved franchises in gaming history.

The 343 Industries and Saber Interactive remake is out on 15 November and will even give Halo fans the chance to do battle with the Covenant with the original graphics.

UPDATE: Microsoft has issued the following on a Halo forum for those worried about the Kinect integration

"Just to let everybody know, the Kinect features we're exploring with Halo: Anniversary are optional and won't affect your core gameplay experience. Our mission, from day one, has been to deliver a faithful recreation of the original game, and we remain dedicated to seeing that through to completion."
