Panda crosses the English Channel

Water-jet propelled of course

A panda crossed the English channel on Friday to the amazement of French and English holiday makers.

Yes, you read that right, however the panda in question wasn't of the black and white furry variety, but a Fiat Panda Terramare 4 designed by Italian engineer Maurizia Zanisi.

Based on a Panda 4x4 chassis, it has an added inflatable flotation belt and water-jet propulsion driven from the rear axle.

Crossing the channel in 6 hours, only 4 and a half less that Little Britian's David Walliams earlier this month, the Italian said that he was intending to drive all the way home to Milan.
