We at Pocket-lint are big fans of the Canon EOS 60D, 550D and 600D snappers - with two of the three earning the coveted "Hot Product" tag and the 60D missing out by a whisker (and still scoring a respectable 8/10) - so we were delighted to hear of the launch of a new telephoto lens for the cameras; the EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II.

This high-quality telephoto zoom lens is designed with photographers who want to do more than just point an shoot in mind, and is ideal for a number of different situations and set ups due to the variable focal ranges on offer.

It packs Canon’s four-stop Image Stabilizer (IS) tech to deal with image blur in low light situations and also boasts an Ultra-low Dispersion (UD) lens element and Canon’s Super Spectra Coatings for glare-free images.

On its own, the Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II will sell for £329.99, although it will also be available in a double bundle with the 60D, 550D and 600D (and the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens).

It's out in July.
