Built in pedometer and stopwatch

Sony is to release a sported focused flash based MP3 player later in the year with a built in pedometer.

The new player, which looks like a pen, will come in two variations, the silver-coloured 1GB NW-S203F and the black-coloured 2GB NW-S205F.

In addition to the pedometer, the players are rumoured to feature a calorie counter, stopwatch and be water resistant. An FM tuner and a 1-Line OLED display are also present.

As with other players from Sony, the company is promising a lighting fast charge time of just 3 minutes for 3 hours of play and a total playback of 18 hours on a full charge.

Both listed for pre-order at Amazon for $119 and $149 respectively, since the discovery however Amazon.com has removed them from its listings presumably because we weren't supposed to know about them yet.

Expect an official announcement later in the year.
