Entering the televisual third dimension is rarely ever a cheap affair, with even the most basic of 3D displays boasting significant price tags. Cello Electronics hopes to change this with its £499 42 inch full HD 3D screen.

The Cello tv ships with four sets of glasses, with additional pairs costing £19.99 each. The 3D displays come in two sizes, the 42 inch and £699 47 inch option.

The panels are somewhat unsurprisingly on the passive end of the 3D display scale, hence the cheaper additional glasses.

The Cello sets use LG passive 3D screens which are by no means unimpressive. Whilst they might not be the same quality seen in Samsung's or Sony's top end displays, the 3D effect is still there to enjoy.

Connection-wise both Cellos have two HDMI sockets and a USB used for recording programs. Also included is the clever iViewer, which allows you to stream BBC iPlayer directly to your television.
