The two consumer Google Chromebooks, from Acer and Samsung, have finally gone on sale. Well, on pre-order, anyway.

Both the Samsung Series 5 and Acer Cromia are now available for order from both Amazon.com and Best Buy in the States, with the former also now available on Amazon.co.uk in the UK. And, while the Acer is still listed as "This item has not yet been released", the Sammy will be in American hands next Wednesday (15 June), British on 1 August.

At present, only the Arctic White version of the Series 5 is available for pre-order in the UK, at £399.99 for the Wi-Fi + 3G edition, £349.99 for Wi-Fi only. All Chromebooks can be ordered in the US, however, with the Acer's weighing in at $449.99 (3G + Wi-Fi) and $379.99 (Wi-Fi), and the Sammy's (in both colours, Arctic White and Titan Silver (no, really) at $499.99 (3G + Wi-Fi) and $429.99 (Wi-Fi).
