As leaked just hours ago, Microsoft has confirmed that Halo 4 is making its way  back to the Xbox 360 in 2012 as the start of a new trilogy.

Giving away very little, Microsoft showed a trailer for the game, that will follow the company’s mega blockbuster franchise, at its E3 press conference in LA.

In the trailer the Master Chief escapes what looks to be a cryo status capsule, before jumping out of an exploding spaceship that’s about to be swallowed by another bigger object.

The game will be made by Microsoft Studios and 343 Industries.

The trailer ends with the date 2012.
