Virgin Media has knocked together an interesting little deal which will offer PAYG customers a wad of web data for 25 quid over a 6 months.
"Once purchased the voucher can be activated whenever the customer needs to give six months of continuous bundled mobile web access. Customers can check their usage easily by either texting, calling us for free on 789 or visiting the virginmedia.com from their handset."
For Android users there's also a free "My Account" app available from the Android Market which will give then info on where they stand in terms of data usage. However beware that if you find yourself in an internet-crazed frenzy and go over your 1Gb limit you'll be charged at the standard rate.
Jamie Heywood, director of mobile at Virgin Media said: “With what promises to be a sizzling summer, whether checking emails in the local park or locating the best place for a glass of Pimms in the sunshine, this new offer is a fantastically affordable way to take advantage of the mobile web for pay-as-you-go customers."
There is a time limit to the Virgin Media PAYG offer which ranges from the 27 May 2011 to 3 Jan 2012 the time-limited offer is available from May 27th 2011-Jan 3rd 2012. The PAYG mobile web voucher can be purchased alongside the PAYG Addict SIM from the Virgin Media website and Virgin Media stores.
