As you can imagine the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation in Tokyo is already chock-full of some of the most outrageous technology available. The latest addition however, a 10,000 OLED screen packing 'digital globe' puts most of the other exhibits to shame.

Known as the "Geo-Cosmos", the rotating globe provides 3D images of earth produced using meteorological satellite images.

The globe has been built to replace the museums older LED iteration built to commemorate its tenth anniversary. The OLED displays allow for ultra high resolution projections to be shown on the sphere which has more than 10 million pixels.

It hangs 18 metres from the floor in the museum and carries the title of "the world's first large-scale spherical OLED screen"
