WEBSITE OF THE DAY - Marmite

Show your support for Marmite

Just like Frankie Goes to Hollywood's Relax, the Heidi Klum Guitar Hero ad and Bret Easton Ellis's biting satire of the eighties American Psycho, some of the best things in life have been banned. Usually it's on grounds of taste – we can't have the masses being exposed to images of scantily clad lovelies or smutty lyrics now, can we?

And if you're Danish, you can't be exposed to the magic of Marmite any more either. But this ban isn't to do with taste – a topic Marmite has built a successful campaign on the back of – but on the fact that it apparently has too many added vitamins and minerals. The Danes don't like it. Along with Shreddies, Rice Krispies and, would you believe, Ovaltine, the yeasty spread of our youth, and many a hungover breakfast, has been removed from supermarket shelves.

You may love it or hate it, but you have to admit that it's a bit of an overreaction after all these years isn't it?

You can show your support on Facebook, or just pop in here to marmite.com to find out a bit more about a substance that this office just wouldn’t even function without.

Denmark – shame on you!
