You may have recently read on Pocket-lint that Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, confirmed that the online retail giant is looking to get in on the tablet market.

You may have also read the Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang predicted that Android tablets could have the beating of the iPad within three years, and that "at least 10" devices with the quad-core Nvidia Kal-El chip are in the works.

You can see where we're going with this, right?

Yep, you got it. Reports are circulating that Amazon has a quad-core tablet monster lined up - codenamed the Amazon Hollywood (perhaps a reference to a potential movie watching service?).

Packing the Nvidia T30, it will boast a staggering 500 per cent performance increase over Tegra 2 devices.

But that doesn't mean Tegra 2 isn't on Amazon's radar either, for the company purportedly has two tablet devices lined up. The second being the Tegra 2 packing device, codenamed Amazon Coyote.

But it's the Hollywood that is causing the most fuss, and quite rightly so. With Amazon's brand, record of hardware success (Kindle, anyone?) and this sort of power on board - this really could be the shot in the arm that the Android tablet revolution needs.
