TomTom Start 20 series adds 2 million kilometres of road

TomTom has announced its latest budget-friendly satnav series, which includes the TomTom Start 20 and the Start 25.

The difference between the two (apart from the obvious mathematical 5) is that the 20 has a 4.3-inch display and the 25 has a 5-inch one.

The Start 20 range features a built in orientation sensor which means that, when you use the flip screen mount to put the device on either your windscreen or your dashboard, the display can go either way.

There's also the usual TomTom features such as advanced lane guidance with 3D representations, IQ routes, parking assistance, spoken street names, the frequent destinations option.

Plus the models come with an extra 2 million kilometres of new roads, twice as many Points of Interest (with extra details like phone numbers and opening hours) and every petrol head's favourite satnav inclusion - speed camera warnings.

"New satnav users can benefit from enhanced safety and comfort, all wrapped up in a very stylish, easy-to-use package," says Corinne Vigreux, MD of consumer at TomTom. "No other satnav provider offers such good looks and intelligent features in a range that is predominantly aimed at first-time buyers."

There are two models of the TomTom Start 20 - a UK and ROI one for £129.999 and a European one for £149.99 - and the TomTom Start 25 (with full Europe) is £169.99. They're available now.
