First we knew that the HTC Facebook phones, the HTC ChaCha and the HTC Salsa, were coming in Q2 2011. Then we slimmed this ETA down to June. Now, thanks to Amazon listing the devices, we now know the exact date of their arrival - 26 June.
Both devices run Android 2.3 (with HTC Sense) via a 600Mhz processor and 512MB of RAM. They have a dedicated button to let you “Facebook”, as HTC tries to appeal to the social networking masses even more obviously than it already does with its Friend Stream service.
The ChaCha boasts a full QWERTY and has a 2.6-inch touchscreen with a 480x320 resolution.
The Salsa, meanwhile, is a fully touchscreen model, with a 3.4-inch display and 480x320 resolution. Both models have a 5-megapixel camera with auto focus and flash, as well as a VGA front camera for video calling.
Price-wise Amazon has the Salsa as the premium model at £319.99 SIM-free, with the ChaCha coming in a fair bit cheaper at £249.99.
