Buena Vista movies to be released on Blu-ray soon

Titles set to launch in September

Buena Vista Home Entertainment announced in January that it would be releasing movies on Blu-ray discs by the summer.

It has now been confirmed that the Blu-ray movie titles will come out in September.

The first release will see ten titles hit the market, including Kill Bill: Vol. 1, Hero, Dark Water, Ladder 49, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

At the time when the announcement of the decision to bring out Blu-ray movies was made, BVHE president Bob Chapek said, "The Blu-ray Disc represents a major technological advance in our industry and just as DVD revolutionized home entertainment, the Bue-ray Disc promises to be the next step in our ability to satiate the consumer's appetite for entertainment by provide the ultimate user experience".

The studio's films will join ones promised from Warner Bros, Sony, and Lionsgate.
