Vodafone has confirmed to Pocket-lint that the latest RIM flaghsip device, the BlackBerry Bold 9900, will be coming to its network when it is launched later on this summer.

In case you missed the announcement yesterday, Research in Motion not only stepped up the hardware on board its new handset with a 1.2GHz processor, but also unleashed a new operating system upon it: BlackBerry OS 7.

The new Bold has a 2.8-inch VGA (640x480) 287 dpi resolution touchscreen, along with a QWERTY keyboard and optical trackpad.

There's 8GB of on-board memory with the option of expanding that via a microSD card, as well as NFC capabilities and a 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording.

There's no release date or pricing as of yet - from RIM or Vodafone - but, as always we'll keep you posted.

Updated: We've now heard that Three will be stocking the handset as well.
