GetJar, the open Android app store, is looking to bounce back from losing the Android app rights to Amazon for Angry Birds and has announced a new social heavy setup.

The revamped GetJar store includes Facebook Connect, so you can tell all your buddies about your favourite apps, as well as making instant approvals or disapprovals with the like or dislike buttons.

“Now that users can share apps with their friends on Facebook, recommendations are really a bit old school,” said GetJar’s CEO, Ilja Laurs. “Our recent research clearly showed us that what consumers care about is what their friends are downloading and using, not what we as an app store think they should download.”

The new site also allows you to track your download history using the new GetJar’s My Apps feature.

It's live now, check it out.
