WEBSITE OF THE DAY - Hawk and Owl Trust

One for the eagle-eyed among you

2 May 2011 1:00 GMT / By Ian Hughes

Yet another bank holiday weekend comes and goes with absolutely naff all on the telly (and yes, I include Friday's nuptials in that as I can't bear watching my own wedding video, let alone somebody else's).

I know there was nothing on, because I became quietly obsessed with  www.hawkandowl.org and spent more time than is healthy staring at a screen waiting for something exciting to happen in a box a long way above Norwich Cathedral.

This site is dedicated the conservation of birds of prey in the UK and they have a series of webcams set up so us city folk can see what a bit of our proud nation's wildlife actually looks like.

On Easter Sunday, a peregrine falcon laid an egg in one of the site's webcam-equipped boxes and now we're all waiting for it to hatch. No movement yet though.

See? I told you there was nothing on...
