The youth of today - not as bad as they're cracked up to be

Ask a simple question and you're likely to get a similar answer from a large proportion of the adult population, particularly when it comes to the younger generation, and particularly if the question revolves around street crime. You're likely to hear that it's the youth of today who are the main culprits and how it's a blight on society, blah, bah, blah. This flawed position has even formed the basis for many a political campaign over recent years, that's for sure.

But, the stats don't add up. At www.99percent.org.uk they're campaigning to make sure that the overwhelmingly massive majority of young people don't get tarred with the same brush and that we subsequently don't end up, literally, with a lost generation.

Young people today are involved in all sorts of amazing, though-provoking things, and it's down to us to support and nurture the next generation to help them reach their full potential.

We right them off at our own peril. Unless we want the world to become how the Daily Mail sees it...
