There’s no finer city in the world than London when the sun is shining. The usual dark, gloomy sense of hopelessness and relentless grind is lifted the instant the clouds part, the Raybans come out and the hemlines start to rise a few inches.
This sense of self satisfaction has been boosted this past weekend with the scenes of Easter parades ruined by bad weather in the kinds of places normally basking in sunshine at this time of year. Yep – it’s shaping up to be quite a summer and one more good reason to think about visiting the national’s capital is the E4 Udderbelly festival on the South Bank.
Forget Edinburgh. It’s too far away, too crowded and for the most part too expensive these days. This far more compact festival brings some of the best contemporary comedy to an iconic part of the city and the tickets, available through www.underbelly.co.uk are well within everyone’s reach.
It runs until June and the line-up is top notch.
