BackStab, the Xperia Play exclusive title coming from Gameloft, is due to be released this Friday, 15 April 2011, and the French developer has released a tantalising video of gameplay footage.

Looking like a cross between Assassin's Creed and Pirates of the Caribbean, the game is a third-person action adventure, where you get to play Henry Blake, a former British naval officer who's turned to piracy after been betrayed and jailed.

It features a detailed open world environment, and allows you to climb, run and sneak around while utilising a mixture of close-quarters-combat and ranged weaponry.

It'll be an Xperia Play exclusive for a month, and will then start to appear on other platforms, including iPad 2.
