Become a yuppie with Thumbs Up's 80s Retro iPhone case

The yearning for all things retro continues apace (even though The Ting Tings seemed to have buggered off) and there's nothing that screams 1983 than a "brick" mobile phone.

However, not only is it hard to get hold of a Motorola DynaTAC 8000X these days, it wouldn't work on modern networks anyway, so unless you're an experienced modder, if you fancy wielding an unwieldy cellphone in order to look like Gordon Gekko in Wall Street, you'll have to look elsewhere.

And that's where Thumbs Up comes in. While we've already told you about the 80s Retro iPhone case before, the gadget innovator is finally bringing it to market at the end of April. It converts your smartphone into the sort of slab that would have cost you almost £2,000 back in the 80s.

The 80s Retro iPhone case (otherwise known as 80's Phone) can house both the iPhone 4 and the 3GS, and it'll set you back a more humble £12.99 when it goes on sale. As Del-boy would say, "Cushty!"

Incidentally, those visiting The Gadget Show Live this week can check out a preview of the case on the Firebox.com stand in Hall 10, M14.

* Of course, throwing yourself out of a window can be hazardous to your health. And passers-by. So we recommend just getting yourself a kipper tie and Dire Straits CD instead.
