The Nokia E7 is coming to O2 in May.

"Why is that interesting?" we hear you ask. Well, according to Ukko Lappalainen, VP of Nokia N series phones, the E7 is going to be Nokia's "most important model... this year when looking at sales".

So it could be the last Symbian hurrah before the Nokia / Microsoft partnership starts bearing some Windows Phone 7 shaped fruit.

Plus, it's also interesting that O2 has the phone listed for May. Expansys, Play and Three all have the phone down as coming in April, but previously Play had the device down for a March release - so O2's May date might just be an indicator of yet another delay. We shall see.

What we do know is that the E7, which Pocket-lint got some hands on time with back in September, is a QWERTY side-slider handset running on the Symbian 3 platform, with a 4-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen (640x360 pixel resolution).

We'll do some digging and see if we can come up with a clearer release date - so be sure to check back for updates.
