Vodafone has gone live with its pre-order process for two of the hottest phones of 2011 so far - the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc.

The Xperia Arc is a super skinny (8.7mm), curvy handset that has an 8.1-megapixel camera. It can be yours for nada provided that you sign up for a £30 a month deal for two years.

For that you'll get 600 minutes, 500MB of mobile data and all the texts that your fat little fingers can muster.

If you're more of a gamer, and have had your eye on the PlayStation Phone since the rumours began in around 1997, then you'll probably be more interested in the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play.

Again available for free, the Play will set you back £35 a month and for that you'll be able to make 900 minutes of calls, send unlimited texts and deal with 750MB worth of data.

Also, get in quick because the first 1,000 people to pre-order the device through the Vodafone website will also get a Sony Ericsson DK300 multimedia docking station.

The Gingerbread boasting handsets are both going to be available from 1 April.
