It's one of the most hotly anticipated games of 2011, and it's landing this week.

Developed by Kaos Studios and published by THQ, Homefront is a first person shooter set in 2027, in an America under invasion from a nuked-up Korean army.

It has been the centre of quite a bit of controversy already, with critics arguing that the game's theme piggybacks on the real-world North Korea/US tensions - although THQ has denied any wrong-doing, stating that: "Homefront is a work of speculative fiction, set in the year 2027. Recent real-world events on the Korean peninsula are obviously tragic and, like everyone, we hope for a swift and peaceful resolution."

The game has some pretty big names on board the writing side, particularly John Milius (Apocalypse Now, Red Dawn) and the gameplay should be none-to-shabby either, with it being powered by the Unreal Engine 3.

It's out for the PC, PS3, Xbox 360, as well as the OnLive platform on 15 March.

Let the paranoia and hysteria begin...
