More iPhone 5 speculation, in the form of "mold engineering drawings", has emerged, this time hinting at a larger edge-to-edge screen, and strengthening previous news gleaned from a digitiser panel of a possible fifth gen iPhone - showing a markedly thinner bezel than the one on the iPhone 4.
The source on both occasions is Chinese website IdealsChina, which deals in and resells iPhone parts. The site goes on to say that: "We just got what appears to be mold engineering drawings for iPhone 5. These would be used by case designers to create plastic, TPU, aluminum, silicone and leather cases. A while back we hear rumors that iPhone 5 would have a curved back but these images show iPhone 5 with the same form factor as iPhone 4 but with an edge to edge screen."
So what can we take from these pics? Well it looks as though the core of the handset is pretty much going to stay the same, but if these images are correct it will allow for a larger screen within the same sized body - which can't be bad.
Add this this to the likely introduction of the A5 chip into the next-gen Apple handset, as well as face recognition, NFC tech and dual mode CDMA and GSM and a pretty comprehensive picture is building around the iPhone 5 - possibly a wildly inaccurate one, but a picture nonetheless.
The iPhone 5 should be announced at WWDC 2011, so let's hope there are some surprises left.
